The story
Every mother who delivers a baby holds her baby, looks into its face, and tries to imagine what that child will become. Can you imagine Mary holding baby Jesus, knowing the baby boy she was holding was the Son of God, who would die for mankind and then be resurrected? What did she know and think as she held Him to her heart? I thought about dear Mary and baby Jesus, His hand reaching to His mother’s face, His mother who would raise Him until He could teach the world the plan of salvation, who He was and will be, and who His Father was and is. I painted this picture as a permanent reminder to myself and others of both Mary and her Son, Jesus Christ.
