How Heart Identity Began

Heart Identity began with a friendship, a shared love of creating, and a desire to use our gifts to bring people closer to Jesus Christ.

We first met through church and soon discovered that we were both artists. Our friendship grew as we spent time together creating, sharing ideas, and encouraging one another in our faith and our art.

One day, sitting at Camille’s kitchen counter drawing together, the conversation turned to children’s books. Camille mentioned a story she had written and showed Wendy the sketches she had created for it. That simple conversation became the beginning of something neither of us could have fully imagined.

Together, we began bringing the story to life. Camille had written the story and created the original sketches, and we sat side by side digitally drawing the illustrations on our drawing tablets with digital pens and working together on the design that eventually became The Miracle of Jesus.

What began as one children’s book grew into something much bigger: a shared desire to create Christ-centered art and resources that could strengthen faith, deepen understanding, inspire hope, and help people remember their divine identity.

And from that shared purpose, Heart Identity was born.

Meet the founders of Heart Identity

Meet Camille

Hello, I’m Camille Cornaby! I’m a mother of eight—seven children of my own and one stepchild—and a grandmother and great-grandmother. Having been married, I’m now in a single season of life, with a family I adore and so much love to share. They are one of my greatest joys.

I’m also an artist and art teacher who still feels like a kid at heart. I once told my students I was turning 109. You should have seen their faces! One student guessed a much younger age, and I said, ‘You have an A+ in class. Thank you so much!’

Life has brought me many challenges. I have felt broken emotionally, spiritually, physically, and financially. Some struggles are still part of my life, yet I often say I’m the happiest woman in the world. How can that be? Because I have come to know for myself that Jesus Christ is my Savior.

He has healed my heart and spirit, and for decades, I have lived on miracles. I still face physical challenges, but I trust in His care and His timing. Looking back, I’m grateful for what my hardships have taught me. They have helped me understand others more deeply and offer encouragement as they face their own difficult seasons.

Wendy and I met after I moved to Utah. I was teaching private art lessons, and she joined my class. It was clear she had a gift for drawing. One day she asked, ‘Camille, have you ever thought of writing a children’s book?’

‘Why, yes, I have,’ I said. ‘Let me show you the illustrations.’

She looked at the drawings and said, ‘Let’s do it!’

That conversation began a beautiful friendship and creative partnership. Together, we published The Miracle of Jesus and later created its second edition. Along the way, we’ve shared an amazing journey of faith, learning, and creating.

Our hope is that something here will encourage you on your own journey. Take a look around, explore our resources, and feel welcome to share your thoughts or ask questions. We would love to hear what’s on your heart.

Meet Wendy

Hello, I’m Wendy Castleton! I’m married to my sweetheart, Jon, and together we raised our six beautiful children in a small Utah town. Most are now grown, and we’re blessed with five wonderful grandchildren. I adore my family—they truly are my world.

Creating The Miracle of Jesus with Camille was one of the most exciting and spiritual experiences of my life. Illustrating a book about the Savior was a precious honor because He has transformed my own life.

My family has faced deeply difficult challenges that left me struggling with anxiety and sadness. Through my daily walk with Jesus Christ, I have found healing, peace, and the strength to move forward. I still face challenges, but holding His hand helps me navigate them with hope, trusting in the bright and beautiful future He has in store for us.

Camille is both a dear friend and a treasured creative partner. Working beside her has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. From The Miracle of Jesus to the many other projects you’ll find here, we’ve shared moments of joy, inspiration, and purpose. We love creating together, and our shared desire is to uplift, encourage, and bless others by bringing more light and hope into their lives.

That desire is at the heart of Heart Identity. We hope these resources help you rediscover who you truly are, deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ, and find greater peace and joy.
